The Professional Case Study at the University of Huddersfield

Abstract: Media students at the University of Huddersfield carry out a Professional Case Study as part of their final year modules in order to increase their knowledge of the media industry and improve their familiarity with possible career routes upon graduation.  The study takes the form of a dissertation which details a particular media role and analyses how it fits into the overall context of that particular area of the media.  Students are encouraged to undertake a period of work placement in preparation for their study and to improve their network of contacts both as potential interviewees and possible future employers.
