OER Programme Phase 2 – announcing successful project bid

ADM-HEA is pleased to announce the success of the proposal to manage the following project as part of the Cascade Strand of the Open Educational Resources (OER) Programme Phase 2. This is a twelve month project, part of the wider OER Programme being managed jointly by JISC and the HE Academy.

Following the pilot ADM-OER Project of 2009-10, the project’s predominant intention is to ‘extend the range of materials that are available openly and to further investigate the benefits offered by OER to all those involved in the learning process.

Title:
Practicing Open Education: Developing the Potential of Open Educational Resources in Art, Design and Media

Objective:
To provide targeted OER support that addresses the specific needs at the participating departments; to embed effective OER practices and policies within the participating departments and to extend the range of materials that are available openly.

Evaluation of ADM-HEA activities

As part of a range of reporting activities, ADM-HEA is now carrying out an annual, detailed evaluation of two aspects of its work. This will help us gauge their impact and effectiveness across the sector and help us to reflect on and adjust our future output.

ADM-HEA conducted the first two of its evaluations in June: Networks magazine, now in its fourth year which is published three times annually and distributed, free of charge, to all ADM HE staff and the Art, Design and Media Teaching Fellowship Scheme which was launched in 2008. The evaluations were conducted by means of online and paper surveys looking at a range of impact from raising general awareness of learning and teaching amongst staff within UK ADM institutions through to an impact on the student learning experience.
