Thank you to everyone who has contacted us since last week’s announcement. We now have additional books available for review. Selected reviews will be published in Networks online and successful reviewers are able to claim £50.00 worth of book tokens and are free to keep the review copy.

Design & Technology Association’s Believe in D&T campaign

As the UK government reviews the national curriculum and design technology’s status as a compulsory school subject, the Design & Technology Association,  the James Dyson Foundation and industrial designers Seymourpowell have started a campaign to secure the future of design and technology education.

HEA Discipline call for proposals to Workshop and Seminar Series 2011-12

Institutions are invited to host and deliver a workshop or seminar on teaching and learning in a discipline context. Workshops and seminars will be held throughout the 2011-12 academic year. Funding of £500 is available to host and deliver a workshop or seminar plus up to £500 towards travel costs.

The 5th Art, Design and Media Creative Learning and Teaching Day is this year being hosted by Ravensbourne . The day is designed for colleagues who are directly involved in learning and teaching in art, design and media: if you work in academic development, learning co-ordination or student support within art, design or media higher education this day is for you.

Presentations and workshops will provide opportunities to hear about current research, developments and innovations in art, design and media teaching and learning. Importantly, the event is a chance for colleagues to get together informally, share views, discuss opportunities and create future collaborative ventures.
