Summit Programme to Promote Student Success
The Higher Education Academy is pleased to launch two new Summit Programmes for higher education institutions (HEIs) in the UK, in association with Equality Challenge Unit and Equality Forward Scotland. They will address the following themes:
- Developing inclusive learning and teaching; and
- Improving the degree attainment of Black and minority ethnic students.
Both programmes will run for 12 months from March 2009 to February 2010 and aim to facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and/or practices to enhance student success. Using a common framework and based on cross-institution working, each offers a structured programme of meetings, activities and resource development, to help participating teams to enhance their understanding of the issues, share their expertise and work towards improving institutional policy and practice.
The Academy is now inviting proposals from HEIs across the UK who are interested in taking part in either of the two programmes. A maximum of 15 institutions will be accepted on to each programme. The deadline for expressions of interest is 12 noon on Friday 6 February 2009.
