Study of international students' perceptions of their experience in the UK higher education
CLIP CETL have launched on their website the report of a piece of research on international students and their perceptions of their experience in higher education. This research was carried out in the University of the Arts London, but CLIP CETL regard its findings as having a more general applicability.
They consider the research as significant. They interviewed a large sample in depth (141 students from Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and the USA). Innovatively, interviewers were the same nationality as the interviewee, and almost all interviews took place in the student’s first language. The interviewers were social science research students from various
colleges of the University of London.
The report is theoretically grounded in the literature and also has an extensive bibliography which should be very useful for anyone researching in this area.
CLIP CETL would be delighted to have comments on the report and have contact with any others researching this area.
