Arts Award and Higher Education
Arts Award is a national qualification that supports young people to develop as artists and arts leaders. It stimulates and provides young people with clear progression and new pathways into higher education. It is run through a unique partnership between Arts Council England and Trinity Guildhall and young people aged 11-25 can achieve Arts Awards at levels 1, 2 and 3 on the national qualifications framework. In 2009, Trinity Guildhall is applying for UCAS points to be attached to the Gold Award which will further establish the award's credibility and value.
Arts Award recognises young people's development through the arts and their commitment to their own learning. It encourages high levels of achievement both in creative projects and leadership work, as well as building transferable skills which help prepare young people for continuing education and employment. To date over 12,000 young people have achieved awards.
