The Flying Start Symposium
- Liverpool Hope University Conference Centre
- 10 June 2010 00:00
The Flying Start Project, funded by the Higher Education Academy, has now been working for two years to investigate and seek out potential solutions to the problems many students face when making the transition to Higher Education, particularly in terms of their academic writing. The Flying Start Symposium will be a showcase of the many elements of the project’s work that will be open to teachers, Further Education tutors and Higher Education lecturers and support staff.
This symposium is an open and inclusive event that will be of interest to all professionals who are concerned about the development of student writing from GCSEs to the first year of university study.
The day will consist of 12 sessions which range from presentations of the effectiveness of student mentoring to the development of assistive web based resources.
For a full programme and descriptions of all the sessions please visit the Flying Start website, where all the information can be downloaded from the Flying Start home page.
If you would like to attend this free symposium then please contact Angela Foxcroft (Flying Start Project Administrator) with your name, job title and the institution you are from.
After viewing the session details on the website please also include in the email your preferences for parallel sessions (please give a first and second choice for each parallel session).
Places at this free event are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The closing date for registering for this event is: Tuesday, 1 June 2010.
