Peter White MBE, the BBC’s Disability Correspondent, will open the forthcoming conference which is being organised by the British Universities Film & Video Council (BUFVC).
The key theme of the Learning on Screen conference in 2009 is Disability and Access to Moving Image and Sound. There will also be sessions demonstrating new online services delivering access to moving image and sound content. The Learning on Screen Conference will offer an opportunity for academic service providers, web developers, broadcasters, educationists, advisors, publishers and representatives of disability groups to meet to see examples of best practise, to learn about new techniques and to discuss the challenge of reaching the standards of delivery required by legislation to meet the expectations of users.
Learning on Screen 2009 will take place at the Wellcome Trust. During the two days there will be opportunities to visit The Wellcome Collection's spectacular permanent and temporary exhibitions.
