Exploring formative assessment in practice

This is a one-day symposium on formative assessment, organised by the University of Kent.
Dr Berry O’Donovan www.business.brookes.ac.uk/bs/profile.asp?id=p0071938 : Deputy Director of Assessment Standards Knowledge Exchange CETL (ASKe) and Acting Head of Learning and Teaching at the Business School (Oxford Brookes). Her current research is focused on assessment and feedback, cultivating student community and the intellectual development of management undergraduates.
Confirmed guest speakers include:
Prof Peter Hartley, Professor of Education Development, Director of the Centre for Academic Practice and Head of the Educational Development Team, University of Bradford.
Dr Karen Handley, Senior Lecturer in HRM and Organisational Behaviour and a Fellow at the Brookes Centre for Teaching and Learning. Her particular interest is in student engagement with feedback.
All sessions will be practice focused and include:
