Disability Research Conference

Location:
Headingley Carnegie stadium
Date(s):
29 April 2010 09:30-15:15

This year’s disability research group conference will be held on April 29 2010 at Headingley Carnegie stadium. The organisers are delighted that this year’s conference will be held in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University, as part of a “Sustainable Disability Network” initiative. The web site is now available for you to book your place, and see the provisional programme.

The day will start with two keynote talks, followed by some group work and then a series of short showcases from colleagues at Leeds Met and Sheffield Hallam, outlining their research in the disability area.

As well as giving colleagues the opportunity to showcase their work, the conference will provide an excellent opportunity to become familiar with some of the disability research that is going on at Leeds Met and Sheffield Hallam. Previous conferences have revealed a wide range of research interests, for example disabled students in higher education, young people with disabilities and hospital patients. All this suggests that the conference will be very interesting and productive, and all colleagues are encouraged to attend the conference and to invite their students to attend it also (it could be useful, for example, re the level 6 project).
