This course looks at the acquisition and use of audio-visual content for learning and research. Participants will explore sources of content and forms of delivery. They will also gain insight into pedagogic value of audio-visual content and how it may be used for learning and teaching. The course will explore the use of television and radio programmes recorded off-air under licence, and a look at selected BUFVC database services such as HERMES, TRILT and the Moving Image Gateway, and how they can be used to best advantage in further and higher education. Participants will also have an opportunity to view the BUFVC's facilities, to discuss new service developments and network with colleagues in similar roles from other institutions.
