Employability and External Engagement
- University of Stirling
- 2 April 2009 00:00
This event will focus on the ways in which the many forms of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) involve HEIs in ‘community engagement’ and students in ‘active learning’, which often takes place beyond the campus and the classroom. Guest speakers will offer case studies for consideration from different subject areas, giving examples of various interventions that can promote ‘sustainability learning’ and ‘sustainability competence’. Participants will be encouraged to reflect on the relationship between sustainability and employability, and on the range of ‘communities’ which can and should be involved in ESD: students; HEIs (including their estates); local communities; professions; business and enterprise; voluntary organizations and ‘imagined’ communities.
If you are interested in registering for this event, please email Dr Alex Ryan (email@example.com) and Dr Colin Brooks (C.Brooks@arts.gla.ac.uk), who are jointly organizing the event, and please copy Katie Urquhart (Katie.Urquhart@heacademy.ac.uk), who will confirm bookings (please indicate any dietary requirements).
