Books That Fly

Location:
Sallis Benney Theatre, University of Brighton
Date(s):
5 July 2008 00:00

This Project will be launched at the Conference on 5 July 2008.

The University of Brighton, in partnership with the Edward Johnston Foundation, is running a set of three inter-related activities devoted to Book Arts: a Conference (5 July), a Summer School (7-18 July) and a Competition (5 July launch).

Collectively titled Books that Fly, all three activities will be held within the Faculty of Arts and Architecture at the Grand Parade campus of the University of Brighton in July 2008.

Books that Fly is open to all with no entry requirements and participants can choose to take part in any or all of the activities presented on the theme of Book Arts. The project's aim is to spread the word about Book Arts to a wider audience and to extend an invitation to share ideas that will support and encourage developments in the field of handmade books.

The project will begin with the conference in the Sallis Benney Theatre on 5 July, where they will also launch the competition and announce its theme.
