Belonging, Learning and Working: theory and practice in supporting students with disabilities and specific learning difficulties
- Gartree and Rutland Suite, 4th Floor, Charles Wilson Building, University of Leicester
- 27 October 2010 09:30-14:00
The University of Leicester’s Student Retention and Success Project (part of the national HEFCE/Paul Hamlyn Foundation What Works? Student Retention and Success Programme) is researching the factors that affect students’ feelings of belonging within higher education, including the experiences of students with disabilities and specific learning difficulties.
The seminar will present the project’s findings together with an overview, including the rationale and student feedback, of two areas of practical provision at Leicester designed to support such students’ learning and wider employability:
- Online interactive study guides
- Access to Employability programme.
The seminar will also provide delegates with opportunities to reflect on these in the context of their own institutions and to network with others.
