all submissions for the student writing competition 2009

This year ADM-HEA invited art, design and media students to research and produce a piece of critical/creative writing exploring the theme of ‘learning spaces’ in their area of study.  We asked for writing that would critically investigate the theme and reflect personal experiences on the spaces in which art / design/ media students learn.

The winning submission, chosen by the Editors of the Journal of Writing in Creative Practice, was written by Georgina Lee, a 2nd year Architecture student at the University of Nottingham. Georgina is the winner of an iPod touch 1.6G and she will be invited to the Higher Education Academy's Annual Conference along with the winners from the other Subject Centres

You can read Georgina's entry here.

We are delighted to publish this, alongside other entries.  They provide an important student perspective on the topic.  Georgina’s entry will also be published in Issue 08 of Networks magazine (due Autumn 2009).

We would like to thank all the students who entered the competition this year and also the editors of the Journal of Writing in Creative Practice for judging the competition.
